ONE – Petfinder.com has announced September 17–25 will be Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet Week –  “a campaign to reduce discrimination against certain pets during the adoption process.”

Petfinder.com launched its first Adopt-A-Less-Adoptable-Pet campaign in 2009 after recognizing that approximately 95 percent of shelters and rescue groups have a harder time finding homes for certain pets, such as seniors, big black dogs, adult cats or pets with medical problems. This year, Petfinder.com is embracing the theme, “Don’t Hate Me Because I’m ______, Adopt Me Because I Need You,” to help adoption organizations identify why a pet may be “less adoptable” and encourage potential adopters to consider pets they might not have previously.
