An editorial by Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) was published today on TheHill.com, concerning the topic of continuing a ban on horse slaughter.
Moran has introduced an amendment to restore the ban on this horrible practice.
His open letter includes this – “” The USDA estimates that more than 92 percent of horses sent to slaughter in the past were healthy and could have continued to be productive animals. “”
And – “” A recent FDA toxicity report found that substances routinely given to American horses can cause dangerous adverse effects in humans. “”
Moran is to be congratulated for taking this stand against slaughter. He gets a Pack of Compassion Award.

If all these organizations are working to stop this practice of slaughtering healthy horses and animals of any kind, why isn’t anything changing? What do we have to do to pass better legislation for the protection of animals? Why can’t we get a national animal abuser registry? I am so tired of these judges giving a slap on the wrist to the perverts that abuse animals. Maybe we should vote out the judges.
